Job title: Head of Commercial Partnerships
Location: Anywhere in the UK, Remote working with travel to sites across the UK.
Salary: £85,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Bonuses
Role Purpose:
The role holder responsibility is to lead the organisations growth through Private Medical Insurance (PMI) and commercial partnerships strategy and operations nationally. This role holder is responsible for shaping the organisation’s commercial growth, ensuring operational readiness, and delivering an exceptional experience for patients insured through private health insurers and commercial partners.
The role is responsible for developing private and insurer partnerships, securing favourable commercial arrangements, overseeing technical integration, and embed PMI services across the organisation. The role will act as the subject matter expert, ensuring the organisation becomes a provider of choice for patients, insurers, and corporate partners.
Role Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Commercial Growth
* Develop and execute the organisations national PMI and private partnership strategy in alignment with the organisation’s commercial and clinical goals.
* Lead on contract negotiations, pricing frameworks, and reimbursement structures with insurers and intermediaries.
* Identify and pursue new market opportunities for PMI and commercial partnership services, including expansion into new specialities such as Gastroenterology, Dermatology, ENT, and any other specialities that are identified in line with business growth.
* Provide insight and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team on PMI performance, growth opportunities, and market trends.
Insurer & Broker Relationship Management
* Act as the primary relationship owner with all UK private health insurers, brokers, and corporate health partners.
* Ensure delivery of high-quality account management, resolving escalations quickly and proactively improving service delivery.
* Build a network of broker and corporate relationships, ensuring commercial alignment and driving patient referrals.
Operational Delivery & Service Rollout
* Work with operational teams to embed PMI patient pathways across all sites, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
* Lead the training and upskilling of RBMC and hospital teams in PMI processes, patient communication, and insurer protocols.
* Drive continuous improvement, ensuring operational bottlenecks are identified and resolved.
Digital & Technical Development
* Partner with the IT team to create APIenabled booking and billing integration with insurers.
* Ensure systems are insurer-ready, with robust patient validation, pre-authorisation, and billing processes.
* Contribute to the digital patient journey design, ensuring PMI patients have a seamless booking and treatment experience.
Governance & Compliance
* Ensure PMI services comply with all insurers, CQC, and regulatory requirements, including pricing transparency and information governance.
* Monitor and audit billing accuracy, fraud prevention, and contract compliance.
* Establish KPIs and performance dashboards for ongoing monitoring of insurer activity, revenue capture, and patient outcomes.
