Responsibilities – Senior Planner
As a Senior Planner, you will be expected to:
Programme Development: Lead the creation of detailed project programmes in Primavera P6.
Team Support: Mentor and guide the wider planning team to enhance capability and performance.
Technical Review: Analyse drawings, prepare material take‑offs, and calculate activity durations.
Integration: Assess subcontractor programmes and align them with the master schedule.
Timely Delivery: Ensure programmes are produced on schedule by managing interfaces across disciplines and developing integrated design, procurement, construction, and commissioning plans.
Progress Monitoring: Update, track, and communicate progress through programme narratives and dashboards.
Cross‑Functional Support: Provide planning expertise to pre‑contract, operations, and commercial teams.
Construction Knowledge: Apply civil construction techniques effectively within programme development.
Stakeholder Communication: Present programme details clearly to clients, operational teams, and subcontractors.
Operational Support: Deliver lookahead programmes and facilitate collaborative planning workshops.
Ownership: Take full responsibility for programme delivery and performance.
Risk Management: Identify programme risks and communicate them to operations and commercial teams.
Change Management: Incorporate Compensation Events (CEs) into the programme and, in collaboration with the commercial team, secure full contractual entitlement.
Experience Required
A qualification in Civil Engineering or Construction to HND level (or equivalent).
Previous operational experience as a Section Engineer or Sub‑Agent is desirable.
Proven experience in a planning role with a main contractor is essential.
Background in the energy sector is preferred.
Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
Familiarity with time‑chainage software is advantageous, though not essential.
Strong understanding of NEC contracts.
Knowledge of the NEC change management process and experience in developing Compensation Event (CE) programmes.
Experience in creating Power BI dashboards would be beneficial.
