Senior Staff Nurse – Band 6
We are seeking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to the role of Senior Staff Nurse for our award‑winning Paediatric Hospital@Home service, based at the North Middlesex University Hospital site, to provide a high level service to all patients and staff within the department.
The service is commissioned to provide home based care to children in the boroughs of Haringey and Enfield. It operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year, with working hours 07:30‑20:00, consisting of early and late shifts. This virtual ward model will develop bespoke care pathways for children with acute nursing needs in the community and work closely with Paediatricians and pharmacy colleagues to provide seamless transfer home and high quality nursing care according to the treatment plan.
Responsibilities
* Deliver treatment, reviews and assessments at the service user’s home.
* Provide safe and appropriate management of children and young people with an acute illness that can be treated in the community.
* Work closely with the multidisciplinary team and acute teams to support flow across departments, facilitate early discharges, and ensure care and treatment plans are met in the community.
* Identify patients suitable for the H@H service, complete triages, and support patient flow and rapid discharges.
* Plan, implement and evaluate patient care and follow policies and guidelines.
Qualifications
* Experienced paediatric nurse with robust clinical skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Experience working in PED or PAU is desirable.
* Vast experience in paediatric nursing to identify suitable patients for H@H, complete triages and support rapid discharge.
