This is an exciting opportunity to join our BPA business as a Credit Rating Specialist. You’ll play a key role in assessing and monitoring the credit quality of illiquid, unrated assets within our Matching Adjustment portfolio - an area that is central to supporting our growing annuity business. You'll contribute to credit risk assessment, internal model calibration, and regulatory engagement, helping us maintain strong risk management and a robust capital framework.
About the role
* Prepare Credit Quality Assessments (CQA) for illiquid, unrated assets within the Matching Adjustment portfolio.
* Conduct regular reviews and monitoring of credit ratings for private and illiquid assets.
* Support calibration of Internal Model stresses for private assets.
* Develop rating approaches for new asset classes.
* Contribute to discussions and submissions to the PRA regarding new illiquid asset classes.
* Collaborate with colleagues across Investment Office and Group Actuarial to understand the risks associated with these assets.
About you
* Expert understanding of CRA credit rating methodologies for private fixed income markets.
* Detailed knowledge of private fixed income markets.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and regulators.
* Ability to manage multiple deliverables and work collaboratively across the wider business.
* Comfortable providing constructive challenge while maintaining productive working relationships.
