About the Program
The Borgen Project is an international organization that works at the political level to improve living conditions for people impacted by war, famine and poverty. With 20 years of experience in the advocacy space, The Borgen Project has supported the passage of numerous bills that have benefited close to 500 million people in developing countries.
The Nonprofit Leadership Programme
This part‑time, 12‑hours‑per‑week, 12‑week unpaid remote program gives participants insight into the key skills required to lead and develop a nonprofit organization. You can work ahead and complete the program in fewer weeks if your availability is limited.
Responsibilities
* Advocacy Leadership Development – Meet with members of government in your district/constituency; represent The Borgen Project at various business, political and community events; mobilize individuals to contact their members of government in support of key poverty‑reduction legislation.
* Fundraising Development – Learn how to fundraise; create a personal fundraising campaign and meet targets.
* Recruitment – Update job postings; inform groups and classes of openings, introduce recruitment platforms and listen in to interviews.
* Marketing and Promotion – Pitch story ideas to print, broadcast and digital media; utilize social media and develop strategies for web‑based messaging.
Experience
No prior experience is necessary; we’re looking for people who are passionate about fighting poverty and righting wrongs, regardless of your GPA or background.

This is an unpaid internship; college credit is available.
Start Date
New programmes begin every month; you can choose the month you wish to start.
