Towcester Vets have been caring for the animals of Towcester and the surrounding areas for over a century – we pride ourselves on our customer service and the professional but personal veterinary service we offer.
We are now looking for a new Receptionist to join our existing team, providing a friendly and efficient point of contact for our valued small animal clients using our Weedon branch. This role may also include occasional work at our main hospital in Towcester.
You will be the face and voice of the business Some of our clients have been with us for many years and the strong relationships our Reception team enjoy with them help us to maintain a high level of service.
Responsibilities within the role will include:
Greeting clients and dealing with a range of queries both in person and on the phone
Dealing with emergencies in a calm and professional way
Projecting a positive, friendly and professional image of the Practice
Booking appointments for multiple vets on a busy diary
Taking payments
Communicating and liaising with the vets and wider Practice team
Maintaining standards of presentation of the Reception area
Dispensing medication and repeat prescriptions
Selling food/pet toys
Administrative tasks associated with our small animal veterinary service
And you will need to have the following skills and experience:
Enthusiasm, with a passion for customer service
Attention to detail with the motivation to follow tasks through to completion
Exemplary communication skills – as there will be much liaison with our other clinics as well as clients
Ability to multitask, remain calm under pressure and prioritise your workload
Proactivity and supportive of other team members

Previous administration/reception experience including IT skills
Genuine love for animals
