We’relooking for anAssociateData Scientist to join our growingSystem Performance Team.This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is keen to grow their capability, experiment with new techniques, and make a real impact across the business.

You’llsupport the development of data science products that help our colleagues make quicker, smarter decisions at scale.These products span everything from advanced data visualisation and predictive analytics to machine learning models that support operational and strategic decisionmaking.

WhatYou’llBe Doing

1. Develop Data Science Models (40%)

1. Work alongside data scientists, analysts, and subject matter experts to build statistical and predictive models.

2. Carry out exploratory analysis, including data mining, univariateanalysisand empirical data analysis, to understand business problems.

3. Apply machine learning techniques such as linear/logistic regression, decisiontreesand neural networks.

4. Validate models usingappropriate performanceand accuracy metrics.

5. Turn complex data into clear, engaging insights and visualisations tailored to your audience.

2. Data Engineering & Manipulation (40%)

6. Identify,cleanand prepare datasets for use in data science products.

7. Build reusable processes and automated checks for repeatable data preparation tasks.

8. Create andmaintaindata pipelines for developing and testing operational data science products.

9. Work closely with Enterprise Data Engineers to promote proven products into production environments.

3. Grow Your Data Science Capability (20%)

10. Take responsibility for your development by staying curious, researching new data science methods, and asking the right questions.

11. Learn and adopt data science norms and best practices.

12. Build your capability in programming, analytics, and data products through hands-on experience and mentoring.

About You

You’llthrive in this role if you have:

13. A foundational understanding of data science techniques and tools.

14. Experience working with datasets,cleaningand manipulating data, and building basic models.

15. Skills in Python,Ror similar programming languages.

16. Experienceworking with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure & Databricks

17. A keen eye for detail and strong problem-solving abilities.

18. The ability to translate data into meaningful insights through visualisation.

19. A growth mindset and an eagerness to learn from others.

20. A BSc or MSc in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline,or equivalent relevant work experience,isrequired

21. Desirable:Experience working with energy-related datasets (e.g. consumption data, operational energy metrics, or metering data). This will be considered a strong plus.

22. Desirable:Experience working within the Water Industry
