Do you have experience of identifying and securing land opportunities that make a real difference in people’s lives? We’re looking for a driven and commercially astute Land Manager to join a growing team focused on delivering high-quality care homes and retirement living communities across the UK.
About the Role
As Land Manager, you’ll play a key role in sourcing, evaluating, and acquiring land for new developments that support the UK’s ageing population. You’ll work closely with planning, development, and acquisitions teams to bring forward sites that align with our strategic growth ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
* Identify and appraise new land opportunities suitable for care or retirement living
* Build and maintain relationships with landowners, agents, and promoters
* Lead negotiations and secure land acquisitions (subject to planning or unconditional)
* Conduct site feasibility assessments and coordinate due diligence
* Work with internal teams and external consultants to assess planning potential
* Prepare and present land acquisition proposals to senior leadership
* Monitor market trends and competitor activity in the later living sector
* Represent the company at industry events and networking opportunities
We’re seeking a proactive and entrepreneurial land professional with a passion for delivering meaningful developments.
Essential Experience & Skills:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in land acquisition or development
* Proven track record of sourcing and securing land deals
* Ideally experienced in care homes, retirement living, or residential sectors
* Strong negotiation and deal-making skills
* Understanding of planning processes and development appraisals
* Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
* Self-starter with a results-driven mindset
* Network of contacts in land, agency, or care/retirement sectors is a plus
