We are excited to announce a vacancy for a Transport Manager (2-month FTC) at our Wigan Head Office.
As a Transport Manager, your role will involve leading your teams to ensure the smooth operation of our Transport and Service Delivery functions, maintaining high-quality service for our customers.

Main Responsibilities
This role entails managing on-site resources, including colleagues, vehicles, and equipment, to meet and adapt to our customers' evolving needs. Reporting to the site General Manager, your responsibilities will include:
* Leading, guiding, and motivating your team of Shift Managers, First Line Managers, and service delivery crews
* Optimising fleet utilisation, resource planning, and controlling costs while ensuring effectiveness and compliance
* Ensuring legal compliance and safety standards are maintained at all sites
* Identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements within Transport, implementing changes, and sharing best practices across hubs
* Resourcing, developing, and managing your team members
* Making prompt decisions to protect customer service and delivery schedules, with a focus on commercial outcomes
The Ideal Candidate
To be considered, candidates must meet the following essential requirements:
* At least 3 years of experience as a Transport Manager in a medium/large-scale operation
* Proven track record of improving transport operations and operational excellence
* Strong knowledge of Road Transport Regulations, Health & Safety, fleet compliance, and working time directives
* Possession of a national CPC
* Commercial and financial acumen
* Excellent people skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and develop others
* Full UK driving licence
