Principal / Associate - Digital Infrastructure Design Engineer
WSP in the UK & Ireland are hiring for a Principal / Associate - Digital Infrastructure Design Engineer. This role leads infrastructure design schemes at discipline and multi-discipline levels using roadside infrastructure design experience. Collaboration with the team, client engagement, and leadership of design outputs are essential.
What you will do
* Lead infrastructure design schemes at discipline and multi-discipline levels (dependent on grade).
* Collaborate with the team, lead problem-solving efforts, provide support, and address any gaps as necessary.
* Be accountable for the quality of the outputs from the team, ensuring they meet high expectations.
* Maintain strong client engagement and navigate client needs in line with corporate responsibilities, escalating issues to senior staff when appropriate.
What we are looking for
A degree in a relevant engineering discipline and working towards professional registration with an accredited institute.
* Domain knowledge in a relevant industry, such as power, communications, electrical, electronics, and highway design.
* Lead design processes, including the use of design tools.
* Lead a team in delivering designs or schemes.
* Collaborate with colleagues from other disciplines and understand their basic principles.
* Ability to collaborate with clients and manage their expectations.
* Ability to act as lead engineer to take a scheme from inception to handover with the client.
* Motivate, develop and lead junior team members.
* Problem-solve and be self-motivated when undertaking tasks with minimal support.
