The Role
Full time post available. Part time and job share applications welcome. This replacement post joins a service of six consultants and is supported by 2 Specialty Doctors, 4 Specialist Registrars, GPSTs and Foundation trainees on the South East of Scotland Training Scheme. The service has 24-hour obstetric anaesthetic cover, full neonatal cover and an 8‑cot SCBU on site. Advanced Practice Midwives support resident on-call provision. Outpatient clinics are held within the hospital and in GP surgeries and Health Centres across the Scottish Borders region.
Key candidate requirements:
* MRCOG or equivalent and GMC registration with a licence to practice on the Specialist Register for Obstetrics and Gynaecology before taking up the post, or in training within 6 months of expected date of obtaining CCT or equivalent.
* Existing consultant special interests include urogynaecology, sub-fertility and reproductive endocrine services, and maternal and fetal medicine.
* General obstetrics and gynaecology skills with a specialist interest in maternal medicine; potential to develop a specialist interest area in partnership with a Tertiary Hospital.
