Overview
A South London Local Authority is currently seeking an experienced Tenancy Rights Advisor to join their housing service on an initial 10-month contract. This opportunity offers a competitive rate of £30.96 per hour (Umbrella, Inside IR35) and the chance to play a key role in supporting vulnerable residents across the borough.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide specialist advice and guidance to tenants on a range of housing and tenancy matters, including housing law, tenancy agreements, eviction notices, rent arrears, landlord disputes, and homelessness prevention.
* Support residents experiencing unsafe housing conditions, harassment, discrimination and disrepair issues, ensuring they are fully informed of their legal rights and available options.
* Assist with complaints, mediation, and court or tribunal preparation, and liaise with legal, financial and support agencies to secure positive outcomes for clients.
* Maintain accurate case records and manage complex caseloads effectively.
Qualifications
* Previous experience within tenancy rights, housing advice, homelessness prevention or a local authority setting.
* Strong understanding of current UK housing legislation.
* Excellent communication skills.
