Accountant - Controllership Team
We have an opportunity for an Accountant to join our Controllership team where they will play an integral role in our Accounting Organization! This role is responsible for supporting the Statutory Accounting and Compliance team through the execution of daily operations with limited supervision. They will be a key contributor to the tax compliance and financial statement compliance processes for various territories.
Please note: Hasbro operates a Hybrid working pattern of Tuesdays – Thursdays in the office, with Flexibility on Mondays and Fridays. Please only apply if you meet the requirements of the role and the working pattern is suitable for you, and you are located within a reasonable commuting distance from our Stockley Park, Uxbridge office.
A day in the life of the Accountant of Statutory Accounting and Compliance:
1. Prepare statutory filings in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements and deadlines
2. Prepare and review draft local statutory financials and US GAAP to statutory adjustments
3. Understand changes in statutory regulations and apply changes in internal policies and procedures to maintain compliance
4. Prepare and review indirect tax filings in accordance with all applicable regulatory requirements and deadlines
5. Understand changes in indirect tax regulations and apply changes in internal policies and procedures to maintain compliance
6. Collaborate with internal/external auditors and regulatory bodies and respond to inquiries
7. Perform and review financial close activities and enable timely and accurate completion of close-related tasks
8. Perform and review account reconciliations and gather proper supporting documentation
9. Perform and review variance analyses to identify discrepancies and ensure financial integrity
10. Own and manage continuous improvement initiatives and enable approved execution plans
What you’ll bring:
11. Accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification (CPA).
12. Solid financial accounting experience ( in Industry and audit firm experience preferred).
13. Experience of preparing statutory reporting, corporate tax and VAT return preparation.
14. Experience of managing and coordinating external and internal audit.
15. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
16. Strong knowledge of US GAAP, along with a solid understanding of accounting principles, concepts and practices. Exposure to European countries' GAAP will be preferred.
17. Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, creatively problem-solve and contribute efficiently and optimally in a fast-paced team environment.
18. Excellent communication skills and the ability to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
19. Organized and detail oriented.
20. Strong problem-solving skills.
21. Experience with SAP and/or Blackline is preferred.
