We’re looking for a hardworking Kitchen Porter to support our kitchen and catering operation at Friends House. You’ll play a key part in keeping the kitchen clean, safe and well organised, supporting the team during busy service periods, and making sure equipment and crockery are ready when needed. This is a physical, hands-on role for someone who takes pride in high standards and works well in a team. What you’ll do • Wash and clean crockery, cutlery, equipment and kitchen areas to a high hygiene standard • Keep pot wash and back-of-house areas organised, clean and safe during service • Follow safe working practices, including COSHH guidance and manual handling • Support with deliveries, stock storage and waste/recycling as needed • Report faults, breakages or safety concerns promptly to the kitchen/BOH lead • Work flexibly across shifts, supporting the wider team when needed What we’re looking for • Reliable and hardworking with a positive, team-focused attitude • Good awareness of cleanliness and hygiene standards (training provided if needed) • Able to work safely and follow instructions, including chemical safety • Comfortable with physical work and being on your feet for most of the shift • Punctual, flexible and able to work a rota (including early starts/late finishes and weekends) For more about Friends House go to https://www.friendshouse.co.uk/ Quakers are committed to equality and welcome applicants from all identities and backgrounds.
