We are seeking a talented and driven Control System Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and commissioning control systems for a wide range of industrial and/or automation projects. This is a great opportunity for an engineer with a solid understanding of control principles and experience in PLC/HMI/SCADA systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop control systems, including PLC programming, HMI design, and SCADA configuration
* Produce detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts using CAD software
* Work closely with project managers and clients to define technical requirements and system specifications
* Configure and integrate industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP)
* Conduct FAT/SAT testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control systems on-site
* Maintain technical documentation and support the creation of user manuals and handover packs
* Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards and safety regulations (e.g. BS EN (phone number removed)
Requirements:
* Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related discipline
* Proven experience in control system design and development
* Proficient in PLC programming (e.g. Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Schneider)
* Experience with HMI/SCADA platforms (e.g. WinCC, FactoryTalk, iFIX, Wonderware)
* Ability to read and create electrical schematics (AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN desirable)
* Strong understanding of industrial automation, instrumentation, and motor control
* Good communication and documentation skills
* Willingness to travel occasionally for commissioning and site support
Desirable:
* Experience with motion control or robotics
* Familiarity with Industry 4.0 and IIoT concepts
