About the Project
Sizewell C (SZC) is a crucial part of the UK’s clean energy revolution. This nuclear power plant project in Suffolk aims to deliver a sustainable future, backed by EDF and the UK Government. It offers opportunities to innovate, grow, and excel.
The Role
The Project Manager reports to a Senior Project Manager and leads activities across the full project lifecycle for assigned contracts or work packages. You will ensure delivery of engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities in line with the project schedule, safety, quality, time, and cost standards.
Responsibilities include overseeing design and delivery of construction works, site roads, reinforced concrete structures, and more to enable subsequent phases.
You’ll be primarily responsible for:
* Defining work scope and interfaces within the project
* Ensuring delivery of the scope of work
* Managing on-site project activities within timelines and budgets
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet objectives
* Implementing best practices in project management
* Overseeing contractor and subcontractor activities, ensuring safety and compliance
* Identifying and mitigating project risks
What You'll Bring
* Proven experience managing large-scale infrastructure or energy projects (minimum £20M)
* Strong problem-solving and proactive challenge resolution skills
* Experience managing contractors and consultants in regulated environments, familiar with NEC or FIDIC contracts
* Programme development and resource management skills
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* Knowledge of NEC contracts and multi-program construction background
* Understanding of PWR design and operations
* Ability to handle complex issues in fast-paced environments
* Experience in regulated environments
Preferred qualifications include a civil engineering, construction management degree, or related field.
Essential Qualifications
* Degree or chartered status in engineering, physics, or related field
* Knowledge of CDM regulations
* Project Management qualification (PRINCE2, APM), Primavera P6
* Valid CSCS & SMSTS cards
