Artelier is a leading international Art Consultancy based in the UK and Spain. Working on most iconic projects worldwide, the company’s portfolio spans public art/exhibitions, private residential, yachts/aviation, corporate and hotel interiors. We are a small team of passionate and dedicated individuals.
We are looking for an exceptionally talented, organised and worldly Senior Art Consultant & Project Manager with at least 10 years’ experience of art consultancy/design work and project‑management delivery for major international projects relevant to our sectors. The candidate will take ownership of projects from concept through to delivery and provide specific art‑consultancy or PM support to wider projects within the company.
Full‑time, 5 days per week, 37.5 hours per week. Salary £40,000 – £55,000 GBP (or €40,000 – €55,000 EUR, depending on experience) plus a performance bonus scheme. The role can be remote or office‑based; the preferred location is Bristol, UK or Málaga, Spain.
Education and Experience
* At least 10 years of professional experience researching, curating, designing, and managing FF&E and art for international commercial, hospitality, and private projects – not limited to galleries or museums.
* Minimum of a university degree in project management, architecture, interiors/design, or an art‑related subject.

Highly Desirable Criteria
* Track record of delivering large‑scale, complex international design projects and programmes.
* Experience and evidence of successfully managing budgets over £1m.
* Knowledge of international shipping, imports/exports, and overseas logistics solutions.
* Team leadership, inspiring and managing a team of five or more.
* Experience working closely with client teams and managing project relations.
* Experience managing suppliers, preferably with artists and galleries.
* Proven technical skills and proficiency with project‑management software, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and AutoCAD.
* Preferably a portfolio of design and curation work – concept presentations through to detailed design, specification, and documentation, with art elements.
* Passion for modern and contemporary art and a genuine desire to expand knowledge in this field.
Key Responsibilities
Art Research & Curation
* Research artists and maintain extensive knowledge of contemporary art, craft, and design, including detailed making processes and materiality.
* Lead a cutting‑edge approach to art curation and stay ahead of the curve with latest art world and design developments relevant to our industries.
* Develop sophisticated, well‑researched, and contextually relevant art concept presentations.
* Refine concept presentations through schematic design mark‑ups on floor plans, elevations, and renders.
* Prepare detailed design documents and schedules with item specifications, procurement details, and supplier information.
* Liaise with suppliers to establish stock levels, commissioning details, and arrange sampling.
* Attend project sites to curate pieces and sign off final presentations.
* Maintain a strong understanding of artistic processes, materials, and production methods to support decision‑making and quality control.
* Source suitable suppliers for artwork production, framing, and installation by researching artists, materials, and techniques.
* Review DD documents and verify artwork specifications before supply.
* Manage orders and contracts with artists and oversee the commissioning process, proactively identifying and addressing challenges.
* Collaborate with artists to troubleshoot technical or aesthetic issues, ensuring solutions meet expectations.
* Oversee artwork inspections at studio and storage facilities, ensuring quality standards are met and escalating issues to the Director when necessary.
Project Management & Delivery
* Manage project timelines, track progress of artwork orders, and provide regular reports to the Director.
* Liaise with clients to deliver regular updates, including schedules, sampling, artwork progress, and completion status.
* Supervise and support project assistants and art technicians, ensuring project goals are achieved.
* Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are delivered within budget. This includes obtaining quotes from artists and suppliers, placing orders, tracking payments, and presenting a financial summary report to the Director upon completion.
* Track client payments and liaise with the Director to ensure healthy cash flow.
* Coordinate with shipping partners to arrange large, complex international shipments, obtain quotes, collate invoices, and prepare export documentation.
* Assist clients at the delivery stage to ensure smooth logistics execution.
* Develop and maintain relationships with trusted logistics and shipping partners.
* Visit sites to oversee the installation of international projects, coordinating installation teams for a smooth on‑site delivery.
General
As a small company, you will also be involved in day‑to‑day and administrative tasks. You will be conscientious, highly professional, and confident in a client‑facing role while working well in a team and being a personable addition to our friendly environment. The role will likely involve travel to key suppliers, clients, and project locations.
