Lemon Drizzle Recruitment has been appointed to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor for a well-established and growing main contractor based in Teesside.
The business operates predominantly within the healthcare sector, delivering a mix of refurbishment and new-build projects valued up to £15m, working across both JCT and NEC contracts.
This role is primarily office-based, with site visits as required.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor to join a stable, expanding contractor with a strong pipeline of healthcare work. You’ll take full commercial responsibility for projects, working closely with clients, site teams, and internal departments to ensure successful delivery within budget.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing commercial aspects of healthcare refurbishment and new-build projects
* Producing and maintaining clear, accurate project budgets
* Procuring works to meet or exceed programme and tender targets
* Submitting monthly applications for payment
* Managing client and subcontractor accounts
* Leading change control processes
* Risk and opportunity management
* Monthly reporting at management meetings on project performance
* Working closely with site teams to track progress and site costs
* Detailed commercial analysis and cost reporting

About You
This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor from a main contracting background who is confident managing projects independently.
You will ideally have:
* A degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (or accredited equivalent)
* Experience running projects independently and managing multiple trade packages
* Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
* Excellent organisation and time management skills
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships at all levels
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* A full UK driving licence
