Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.
Candidate Profile
In this role, you will develop high‑quality front‑end components for a major UK Government transformation programme, working within an agile team progressing the solution from Discovery outputs into live delivery. You will build intuitive, accessible interfaces aligned to the Government Design Standards (DDS) and contribute directly to user‑centred design, technical development and iterative releases.
You will collaborate daily with designers, architects, developers and testers, shaping technical decisions and ensuring the front end supports a robust, scalable and maintainable solution. You will have opportunities to share ideas, refine approaches and contribute to a strong engineering culture that values ownership, creativity and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop & deliver scalable Angular applications that align with GDS standards.
* Collaborate closely with UX, service design and back‑end engineering teams.
* Support component testing, accessibility checks and quality assurance activities.
* Contribute ideas that enhance usability, performance and maintainability.
* Participate in team ceremonies and help drive engineering best practice.
Required Qualifications
You should bring strong experience developing large‑scale front‑end applications using Angular, with solid understanding of modern JavaScript/TypeScript, web accessibility and design system implementation. Experience delivering services to GDS standards is highly beneficial.
Essential Qualifications
* Strong Angular development experience on complex applications
* Proficiency in TypeScript, HTML, CSS and responsive UI development
* Experience applying the Government Design System and accessibility principles
* Understanding of agile delivery and iterative development
* Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
* Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high‑quality, maintainable code
