Our client is a leading and rapidly scaling operator in the UK Sports and Leisure sector, looking to appoint a Head of Land Acquisition to join their leadership team and aid their continued business growth. Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic and results-driven professional with a background in Land Management, Acquisition or Development to join the firm and lead all Land Acquisition efforts. This is a senior role that requires both strategic oversight and a willingness to get stuck into the day-to-day. You will be responsible for developing and implementing a cohesive BD strategy to support business growth, working closely with leadership, external consultants and potential stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
BD Strategy & Leadership
* Develop and own the overall BD strategy across the UK
* Build and manage the site finding process
* Assess the suitability of future sites using a tested set of KPIs
* Lead on the initial engagement with new Landlords across the UK
* Work with leadership to align BD with business goals and expansion plans
Pipeline expansion
* Oversee all pipeline activity including locating potential new sites, engaging with new Landlords and performing early-stage negotiations.
* Track and record engagement and feedback, use this to further develop the pipeline expansion process
* Provide regular performance reports to the leadership team
* Work with and manage relationships with external property agents, ensuring all messaging is consistent and on-brand
Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a senior BD role (min. 3 years), ideally in a property, leisure or sports setting
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Good understanding of property/land acquisition and development
* Experience using tools such as Asana, Landinsight, Searchland etc.
* Comfortable working with data, tracking engagement across multiple sites at varying stages, and recording interactions in a scalable way
* Comfortable working both strategically and operationally
* Experience managing property agents or consultants is a plus as is experience with the planning process
