Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Engineer who is degree qualified and has achieved or is working towards chartered status, to lead the development and implementation of professional engineering and maintenance standards across our Northwich manufacturing operations, including the Sodium Bicarbonate Plant, Combined Heat & Power (CHP), and Carbon Capture Unit (CCU).
This is a pivotal role where you will drive engineering excellence, ensure compliance with legal and company standards, and foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Champion high standards in engineering design, safety, and housekeeping across all sites.
* Provide technical leadership and governance to ensure compliance with statutory and company engineering standards.
* Lead or support major, minor, and sustenance projects from feasibility through to execution.
* Deliver innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges through technical studies and design applications.
* Collaborate closely with site maintenance and operational teams to ensure efficient resource deployment and decision-making.
* Maintain accurate documentation of plant modifications and ensure asset information is accessible.
* Coordinate contractors and multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
* Mentor and develop maintenance team members, fostering a culture of ownership and professional growth.
* Develop training and guidance materials for new and modified assets.
What experience are we looking for?
Proven experience in a mechanical engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Degree qualified and working toward or have achieved chartership.
* Strong knowledge of engineering legislation, standards, and best practices.
* Demonstrated ability to lead projects and influence cross-functional teams.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset.
