Mechanical Engineer Location: Liverpool Street, London Salary: £48,000 per annum Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm The Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established facilities management team at a high-profile commercial building in Liverpool Street, London. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer seeking a stable Monday–Friday position, strong benefits, and a clear progression route to Supervisor level. You will be responsible for delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive mechanical maintenance, ensuring all building services and plant operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with statutory and site requirements. Key Responsibilities * Carry out PPM and reactive mechanical maintenance * Maintenance and operation of AHUs and FCUs * Working on pumps and motors * Maintenance of cooling towers * Regular plant room inspections and checks * Operation and maintenance of heating systems * Monitoring and control of water treatment systems * Carry out Legionella control and compliance checks * Ensure all works comply with health & safety legislation * Complete maintenance logs and compliance documentation accurately * Liaise with site management and specialist subcontractors when required Skills & Experience Required * Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer within commercial buildings * Strong fault-finding skills on mechanical plant * Experience with AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors, and cooling towers * Knowledge of heating systems and plant room operations * Understanding of water treatment and Legionella control * Relevant Mechanical Qualification (NVQ / City & Guilds or equivalent) * Knowledge of health & safety and statutory compliance Salary & Benefits * £48,000 per annum * Monday to Friday working hours (8am–5pm) * 25 days annual leave Bank Holidays * Company pension scheme * Overtime available * Life insurance benefits * Ongoing training and professional development * Clear career progression routes to Supervisor level Apply This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable employer offering long-term stability, career development, and an excellent work-life balance
