We offer one of the highest starting salaries for Police Constables across England and Wales, an excellent benefits package, professional development opportunities, and geographical flexibility.

Your duties will include visible patrolling, responding to emergencies, conducting criminal investigations, gathering intelligence, and building trust with the communities we serve.

* Starting salary: £32,472 (plus additional paid allowances stated below), rising year‑on‑year to £50,256 after five years.
* South East Allowances vary by location and include £3,000 or £2,000 from training.
* Oyster card for personal and professional use.
* 25 days holiday, increasing with service.
* A highly competitive Career Average Revalued Earnings (CARE) pension scheme.
* Voucher and incentive schemes such as cycle‑to‑work and a range of high street and online discounts.

* Promotion and development opportunities into different police specialisms.
* Specialist support from our Occupational Health and well‑being team.
* Free eyesight tests.
* Eligibility for Blue Light Card.
* Membership of the Police Federation, a national body representing all police officers, providing support from day one.
* Work‑life balance with 26 weeks of fully paid maternity leave, plus a variety of other leave options including special leave, carers leave, paternity leave, and more.
Eligibility
* You have been unsuccessful following interview for the role of a BTP Police Officer or Special Constable within the last 6 months.

* Unsuccessful BTP vetting checks within the last 12 months.
* Had a custodial sentence (including suspended sentences). Other cautions, convictions and involvement with the police must be declared during vetting but are not necessarily a bar to employment.
* Previously dismissed from another force or currently involved in a live investigation.
* Declared bankrupt, have a CCJ or an unmanaged IVA.
* Tattoos deemed offensive; facial and neck tattoos considered case‑by‑case.
* No permanent right to live and work in the UK.

Key Qualities Include
* Strong communication skills.
* Good judgement and problem‑solving.
* Empathy and emotional resilience.
* The ability to build trust and stay calm under pressure.
