Smith Crane & Construction Ltd is a leading force in New Zealand’s construction and heavy lift sectors, with a growing footprint in the renewable energy space. As we deliver large scale wind farm projects nationwide, we’re looking for a technically capable Project Engineer to join our Wind Division and help drive quality, performance, and delivery on site.
This role is ideal for a practical, detail-oriented engineer who thrives in dynamic site environments and enjoys contributing to complex infrastructure builds from planning through to completion.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee quality assurance for wind turbine components and site works
Maintain technical documentation, inspection records, and project reports
Support planning, scheduling, and progress tracking to meet project milestones
Contribute to tendering, procurement, and technical assessments
Ensure compliance with specifications, safety standards, and work procedures
Liaise with clients, contractors, and site teams to coordinate delivery
Provide input into lift planning, logistics, and installation methodology
Develop method statements & implement on site.
What you'll bring
Tertiary qualification in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering (or similar)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in the construction industry
Wind energy or infrastructure project experience preferred
Proficient in Excel, reporting tools, MS Project and ideally CAD or similar
Current Full NZ driver’s licence
hands on experience in the construction Industry
