Director - Accounting and Finance - Financial Services
Goodman Masson is supporting a fast-scaling fintech platform on the search for a Head of Finance to join its London-based leadership team.
Following an acquisition, the company has cemented itself as a leading digital provider of inclusive financial products across the UK and Europe. With a significant number of customers and a roadmap focused on scaling operations and expanding product lines, this is a pivotal time to join the business.
This newly-created role will report into the CFO and hold end-to-end responsibility for finance – spanning FP&A, controls, treasury, and compliance – while acting as a key business partner to product and commercial teams. You’ll be instrumental in building scalable financial infrastructure, improving decision-making, and enabling sustainable growth across the UK and EU.
The successful candidate will be hands-on, commercially driven, and confident operating in fast-paced, high-transaction environments. A background in regulated financial services, private equity-backed or venture-backed firms would be particularly relevant.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead all core finance functions, including FP&A, financial reporting, budgeting, cashflow management, treasury, and regulatory compliance;
* Develop and embed scalable financial processes, systems, and controls across the business;
* Partner with the CFO and leadership team to provide financial insight and scenario modelling for strategic decision-making;
* Deliver timely, accurate management reporting, board packs, and statutory accounts;
* Maintain strong relationships with external auditors, banks, and financial partners;
* Oversee investor and funding-related reporting, including due diligence requirements;
* Support commercial teams with unit economics, pricing, and profitability analysis;
* Lead and grow a high-performing finance team within a mission-driven, collaborative environment.
Skills & Experience:
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with 8+ years’ experience;
* Strong FP&A and strategic finance exposure, ideally gained in a high-growth fintech, tech-enabled, or regulated financial services environment;
* Proven experience leading finance teams, driving process improvement, and implementing scalable systems;
* Strong commercial acumen and confidence business partnering across teams and seniority levels;
* Familiarity with UK/EU regulatory frameworks (e.g. EMIs, payment institutions, or digital banking) is highly advantageous;
* High level of systems literacy (NetSuite, Xero, or similar) and data analytical ability;
* Experience in high-transaction volume settings or understanding of the customer lifecycle would be beneficial.
