JOB TITLE: Senior Support Worker

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Residential Manager

LOCATION: Duston or Earls Barton

HOURS: 08:00 to 23:00 followedwith sleep in

SHIFTS: 1 day on, 2 days off

SALARY: Up to £36,000 per annum

Who are we?

We provide residential placements for children/youngpeople aged 8-18yrs. We are approved, registered and inspected by Ofsted. We Specifically situated in highly desirable locations,our homes are located in close proximity to all transport links and a vastarray of local amenities. Our homes are registered at a low occupancy levelallowing them to operate to the best standards; ensuring quality child/young person-centredindividualised care in order to meet the developmental needs of all of ourresidents. It is universally accepted that children and young people are morelikely to grow and flourish emotionally, intellectually and physically in afamily environment, our homes are a perfect example of this.

Job Summary

Youwill beresponsible for providing day to day care for our Young People,whether this is supporting them in activities, education or statutory meetingsrelating to their time in residential care. You will work as part of adedicated, ensuring that care teams are maintaining their therapeutic approachand providing direct work with the children. You will assist in leading staff to operate within legal parameters as described in theCompanies Policies and Procedures,ensuring the homes are kept to a good standard, to include cooking and cleaningand of course safeguarding their welfare at all times. You will support the business, clinical & social development of the service.You will lead shifts and manage a team as well as a care team.

* Physical/Emotional/SocialNeeds of Young People - To provide a positive working role model for othercolleagues and the children and young people resident within the home.
* Team Working - To workcollaboratively will colleagues to ensure that all Young People have care plansand to develop, implement and review packages of care.
* Administrative - To undertakeroutine administrative tasks and provide written reports, including Review,Progress and Incident reports.
* Environmental - To develop aresponsible attitude with residents with regard to the fabric, furnishings,equipment, supplies and services in/or to the establishment and to support themin all domestic aspects of both their own personal space and communal areas ofthe establishment.
* General - To undertake allduties and responsibilities in accordance with the policies and procedures ofthe organisation.

Person Specification

* NVQ Level 3/4: Caring forChildren and Young Peopl
* Experience of working withyoung people with ASC, mental health and or emotional and behaviouraldifficulties
* Knowledge of childcarelegislation
* Full UK driving license
* Clean updated DBS
* At least 2 years experienceworking within childrens homes
* Sound knowledge aroundsafeguarding and best practices

* You will need to be able towork well under pressure and adapt to quickly changing circumstances.
