The Community Safety Net project is designed to provide a vital safety net for vulnerable communities. By providing high quality, person ‑centred welfare benefits, debt and housing advice to individuals and families experiencing financial hardship or crisis, supporting them to understand their rights, access their entitlements and improve their financial stability.
As a Caseworker, you will support people to understand their rights, access their full entitlements and improve their financial stability. You will work sensitively with individuals who may be vulnerable or distressed. You will also connect clients with NCA’s other support projects providing Integrated and Holistic support.
You will manage your own caseload, support benefit applications and income maximisation, provide practical housing and debt advice, and empower clients to increase their financial resilience. You will ensure advice is accurate, timely and clearly recorded in line with project and funder requirements.

• Able to manage a varied caseload and prioritise urgent matters effectively
• Calm and professional when working with vulnerable or distressed clients
• Emotionally resilient with the ability to maintain appropriate professional boundaries
• Confident using online benefit systems and case management software
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Proactive and solution-focused approach
• High level of integrity and commitment to confidentiality
• Ability to communicate in community languages (e.g. Punjabi, Urdu, Bengali) would be advantageous when supporting diverse communities.
• Able to work independently while contributing positively to a team

Highly motivated professional with excellent communication and inter-personal skills. 3. Self-starter with strong organisational skills 4. Understanding of the issues involved in supporting and interviewing vulnerable clients in relation to fuel poverty and associated issues. Excellent presentation skills 4. Strong presence with the ability to build effective relationships under challenging circumstances. 5. Ability to use IT in the provision of advice and to prepare reports and analysis for the project. 6.
