Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands‑on experience in education? Are you interested in supporting young people with additional needs and building a career in areas such as educational psychology, mental health, or teaching?

Leader Education is recruiting Teaching Assistants to work in schools and alternative provisions across Greater Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting while making a real difference in students’ lives.


The Role

This is a full‑time (Monday–Friday), long‑term position supporting students across primary, secondary, or specialist settings.


You Will

* Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with additional needs
* Support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD, or learning difficulties
* Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and trust
* Assist teachers in delivering structured and inclusive lessons
* Support emotional regulation and behaviour management
* Help create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
* Encourage the development of social skills, confidence, and independence


About You

This Role Is Ideal For Someone Who:

* Holds a degree in Psychology (or a related field)
* Has a genuine interest in child development, behaviour, and mental health
* Is patient, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations
* Can build strong relationships and set clear boundaries
* Is proactive, adaptable, and keen to learn
* Is considering a future career in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, or SEN support

Previous experience with children or young people (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, care, or coaching) is beneficial but not essential.
