Social Worker - Community Mental Health Team (Band 6) Location: Biggleswade CMHT Service: Luton & Bedfordshire - Community Mental Health Contract Type: Locum 3.5 and 4 days a week Start Date: ASAP Duration: 8 Weeks (initial) Pay Rate: Band 6 - £27 Umbrella equivalent iggleswade CMHT is seeking an experienced Band 6 Social Worker to join its Community Mental Health Team serving the North Eastern corner of Central Bedfordshire, including Biggleswade, Sandy, Potton, Shefford, Arlesey, and surrounding villages. This is a locum opportunity offering flexible working and the chance to make a real difference in a supportive, multi-disciplinary team. Key Responsibilities: Provide person-centred social care interventions to adults with mental health needs Carry out assessments, care planning, reviews, and safeguarding enquiries in line with Care Act duties Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team that includes nurses, psychologists, psychiatrists, and occupational therapists Liaise with families, carers, and partner agencies to ensure coordinated care Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with professional standards and Trust policies Participate in team meetings, reflective practice sessions, and ongoing service development What Youll Receive: Ongoing professional support from the Senior Social Worker and Team Leader Access to reflective practice sessions and regular supervision Support from a dedicated Social Care Lead within Central Bedfordshire Continued Professional Development (CPD) opportunities, including: ASYE support AMHP training Leadership Academy AMCP and Practice Educator training pathways Bespoke learning opportunities aligned with your professional goals Requirements: Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration Experience within a community mental health setting Good working knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and safeguarding processes Excellent communication, assessment, and interpersonal skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team Why Join ELFT in Central Bedfordshire?
