Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a specialist alternative provision in Blackburn to recruit a Behaviour Support Worker to start immediately.
This provision supports pupils across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, many of whom have experienced disruption to their education. The setting offers a nurturing, structured environment, with small class sizes and a strong focus on building positive relationships and re‑engaging students in learning.
As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will:
* Support pupils displaying challenging behaviour on a 1:1 and small group basis
* Help students regulate emotions and access learning
* Use de‑escalation strategies to manage behaviour effectively
* Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
* Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, behaviour challenges, or in alternative provisions (desirable)
* Resilient, patient, and calm under pressure
* Strong interpersonal and behaviour management skills
* Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners
* Available full‑time and able to start ASAP
