What will you deliver?
Working as part of an agile development team, you will design, build and support secure, resilient cloud environments for Thales UK, helping AI product, programme and project teams to adopt modern DevSecOps ways of working.
Building & Automating Cloud Infrastructure
- Design and build industry‑leading cloud infrastructure on Azure and other hyperscale platforms
- Create secure, low‑maintenance cloud environments using modern DevSecOps practices
- Develop and maintain tooling to support efficient CI/CD pipelines
- Drive automation to improve development, release and deployment processes
- Support release and production environments where required
Maintaining Technical Solutions
- Ensure products are deployed correctly and consistently within established technical rules
- Provide delivery teams with automated tools/scripts to provision compute, storage and network resources
- Help define and enhance the technical approach for cloud environments
Securing Platform Infrastructure
- Understand the functional context of products and challenge functional decisions where appropriate
- Embed operational best practice (monitoring, backups, logging, supervision)
- Ensure the squad understands operational constraints and provide training where needed
- Uphold strong security practices across cloud environments
- Communicate best practice and educate the wider Thales UK engineering community
Who are we looking for?
- A strong interest in cloud technologies and evidence of self‑development
- Good understanding of IaaS and PaaS
- Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure
- Ability and interest in scripting languages
- Experience with Terraform or Ansible for Infrastructure as Code
- Experience with CI/CD tools and build pipelines
- Exposure to application development
- Understanding of cloud design patterns and how to apply them
Desirable Skills
- Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority and technical depth
- An advocate for modern DevSecOps and software delivery practices
- Able to work across multiple concurrent projects
- Collaborative, and able to work with wider technical functions to embed cloud solutions across the business
This role will require SC Clearance
