An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health Care Professional to work in a Specialist role with patients who have a confirmed diagnosis of ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome. This is an outpatient, static post based at Broadgreen Hospital. The service provides therapy support for patients referred from the Cheshire and Merseyside area and offers a tailored self-management programme with specialist advice. Therapists deliver group workshops and individual therapy sessions by virtual or face-to-face methods, in line with ME/CFS NICE Guidelines and the Post COVID NICE guidelines. The team includes Consultant Physicians, Service Manager, Specialist Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologist, Specialist Physiotherapist and an administration team.
The role lends itself to candidates with experience of working with people with long-term health conditions, across Physical and Mental Health settings. Responsibilities
* Provide specialist occupational therapy assessment, planning and delivery for patients with ME/CFS or Post Viral Fatigue Syndrome.
* Deliver group workshops and individual therapy sessions by virtual or face-to-face methods.
* Develop and implement tailored self-management programmes in line with NICE guidelines.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including Consultant Physicians, Psychologists and Physiotherapists.
* Support patients referred from the Cheshire and Merseyside area within an outpatient setting.
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified Occupational Therapist with current registration.
* Experience of working with people with long-term health conditions in physical and/or mental health settings preferred.
* Ability to work within NICE guideline frameworks for ME/CFS and Post COVID conditions.
