Role – Senior RF Engineer
Location - London, UK
My client is seeking a Senior RF Engineer who will be responsible for significant work packages of RF/Microwave module development, test, and support as well as antenna design, modelling, and requirements. They support other areas of the business with RF/antenna design expertise.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively lead antenna and RF equipment development, via internal or sub-contracted work packages.
* Maintain antenna and RF designs – e.g., for product Improvements and obsolescence. Management
* Oversee derivation of requirements and specifications and their verification & validation
* Provide technical support to Supply Chain, Quality, Suppliers and Customers.
* Support external antenna and RF designs and maintain antenna/RF Production Tests.
* Support RF module manufacture – responding to technical issues, undertaking trend analysis and root cause analysis.
* Ensure that Engineering Procedures are correctly followed, and the quality is maintained through design and manufacture.
* Generate estimates, plan and generally manage small work packages.
* Ensure adequate documentation is maintained.
Requirements
* PCB Design at microwave frequencies - comfortable with manipulating schematics and defining/reviewing required layout.
* RF Component selection; knowledge of High Power RF amplifier, Low Noise Amplifiers, Limiters, Circulators, Filters, Mixers and Phase Locked Loop usage.
* RF System Design (e.g. Cascade Analysis).
* Familiarity with RF test equipment (e.g. Spectrum Analysers, Vector Network Analysers).
* Antenna theory and design and test including array antennas, including slotted array and printed antennas
* Design for test and design for manufacture.
* Experience of a Production Environment (e.g. good understanding of processes such as SMT).
* Self-motivated and enjoys working within a team.
* Good command of written and verbal English.
