Overview
Be part of the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in Bolton. This is an opportunity to contribute to an expanding service delivering evidenced-based low intensity CBT interventions, managing risk, and supporting young people in education settings.
As part of a new team, you will help shape the service with further education settings in Bolton and build positive working relationships with colleagues and the wider network. The current UK MHST delivery plan aims to cover 100% of schools in the UK by 2030, with ongoing development and growth across Trust and Greater Manchester.
Responsibilities
* Form strong working relations with education settings
* Provide consultations to education colleagues and support embedding a whole-school approach to wellbeing
* Develop and deliver evidence-based, time-limited individual and group interventions for young people in education settings
* Evidencing outcomes of the MHST service
* Provide clinical supervision to Education Mental Health practitioners

Job Description and Person Specification

Qualifications
* Core profession with valid registration (e.g., RMN, Social Work) or equivalent postgraduate qualification in CBT, EMHP, CYWP; evidence of CPD in CAMHS
* Completion of an EMHP Supervisors Course
* Desirable: CYP improving access to psychological therapies certificate
Experience
* Experience of assessment and delivering evidence-based mental health interventions including low-intensity CBT
* Experience of MDT working within CAMHS
* Experience with safeguarding procedures for children and adults; using routine outcome measures
* Experience of peer supervision and providing supervision/consultation in multi-disciplinary settings
* Desirable: experience of supporting young people in educational settings
Knowledge
* Understanding of child and adolescent development; risk assessment and safety planning
* Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Mental Health Act, Child Protection, Safeguarding)
* Understanding of brief therapeutic models
* Desirable: ability to teach/train using multimedia; familiarity with research methods and data analysis in CAMHS
Skills
* Ability to use CYP assessment skills and routine outcome measures; risk assessments
* Apply therapeutic knowledge to clinical practice; effective communication; strong organisational and time-management skills
* Ability to work autonomously in the community and make appropriate decisions
* Commitment to the professional development of mental health practitioners in education settings
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
