Do you hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching certification required for the Chemistry teacher position at the secondary school level?

This school in Blackburn is in search of a qualified Chemistry Teacher to join the team. This role involves teaching secondary school students Chemistry, creating exciting lesson plans, conducting experiments, assessing progress, and offering supportive feedback. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, a strong grasp of chemistry concepts, and the ability to inspire student's interest in science.

Responsibilities:
6. Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
7. Strong knowledge of the curriculum
8. Punctual and reliable
9. Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
10. Develop approach to self - directed learning, use technology to support learning
11. Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
12. Set homework and mark promptly
13. Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
14. Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
15. Respond to questioning
16. Supervise and support students in laboratory experiments and research projects.
Preferred skills:
17. Managing behaviour of pupils whilst undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment
18. Strong classroom management
19. Motivated and enthusiastic demeanour
20. Be an inspiring and engaging communicator
21. Use imagination and innovation to enhance learning experience
Personal attributes:
22. You will have a genuine passion for teaching
23. Experience up to key stage 3/4
24. QTS/PGCE equivalent
25. Be flexible and committed
