Overview
Our client, an international law firm recognised for its collaborative culture and commitment to professional development, is seeking an HR Assistant – Early Careers to join its growing People Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with strong administrative and organisational skills to play a key role in supporting early careers recruitment, trainee development, and engagement activities. The role sits within a dynamic, supportive team that works closely with stakeholders across the business to attract, nurture, and retain top legal talent.
Responsibilities
* Support the coordination and delivery of early careers recruitment campaigns, including university events, placement schemes, open days, and assessment centres.
* Assist with marketing and attraction initiatives, ensuring strong candidate engagement across multiple channels.
* Manage candidate communications, responding promptly to enquiries and maintaining accurate records in applicant tracking systems.
* Support trainee development by coordinating seat rotations, training sessions, inductions, and secondments.
* Maintain trainee records and monitor performance review documentation, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
* Assist with qualification processes, liaising with internal stakeholders and trainees to ensure smooth progression.
* Manage administrative tasks such as maintaining inboxes, processing invoices, and tracking budgets.
* Collaborate with the wider HR team on cross-functional initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
* Minimum of 12 months’ experience in an administrative or support role, ideally within professional services or a similar fast‑paced environment.
* Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
* Professional and approachable manner, able to build positive relationships with candidates, colleagues, and external partners.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and confident using databases or applicant tracking systems.
* Experience supporting recruitment or HR processes, particularly early careers or graduate schemes.
* An interest in talent development, diversity initiatives, and employee engagement.
