Position Purpose:
Contribute to the safe and timely movement and transportation of clinical and industrial waste by driving a non-HGV company vehicle.
Work as part of the Transportation team to provide excellent customer service while ensuring full compliance with all legal requirements regarding the EU Working Time Directive (EU hours) and ADR Transportation Regulations.
Support Service Managers and Coordinators daily; shifts are any 5 days out of 7, including legal holidays when required.
Key Job Activities:
1. Carry out daily schedules according to agreed routes and timings.
2. Complete documentation related to drivers’ hours and WTD, complying with legislation and corporate procedures.
3. Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements under the Road Traffic Act and related legislation concerning vehicle, driver’s hours, tachograph records, weight, and speed limits.
4. Adhere to all ADR/Hazardous goods legislation.
5. Follow company standard operating procedures.
6. Act as a customer contact at delivery points, maintaining politeness and courtesy.
7. Attend work instructions, training, and staff meetings as required.
8. Perform ad-hoc duties and demonstrate flexibility in working times and shifts.
9. Follow management requests, operate professionally, and report incidents promptly.
10. Perform vehicle checks before use, report defects, and complete relevant documentation.
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience (EMEAA):
Preferred: Previous driving experience, especially in similar roles.
Required: Valid car license with the ability to drive up to 7.5T; ADR license preferred.
Skills include responsibility, commitment, organization, teamwork, initiative, empathy, presentation, resource optimization, results, and safety orientation.
Certifications and Licenses:
Driver's License required; ADR License preferred.
