Senior Physiotherapist – Barts Health NHS Trust
Join to apply for the Senior Physiotherapist role at Barts Health NHS Trust.
Are you a physiotherapist keen to work in a first‑class teaching hospital in our award‑winning service? We look for someone committed to evidence‑informed practice and the development of motivated junior staff. The role focuses on manual and exercise therapy, education of undergraduate and postgraduate students, research, service development and clinical audit.
We have an opening for a full‑time B6 Musculoskeletal Specialist to join the Whipps Cross Therapies team. A qualified physiotherapist with experience in MSK is required; registration with the HCPC is mandatory and an orthopaedic inpatient rotation is ideal. The ideal candidate will have excellent baseline knowledge of musculoskeletal physiotherapy principles and experience treating a variety of peripheral and spinal patients. Assessments and treatments will be delivered through face‑to‑face and virtual appointments. Evidence of involvement in project management and audit is desirable.
The post holder will work within the Barts Health Band 6 musculoskeletal rotations at Whipps Cross Hospital and community sites. You will collaborate with orthopaedic, rheumatology and community pain clinics and have supervisory responsibility for a Band 5 physiotherapist and students, providing appraisals, teaching and clinical support while managing a demanding caseload. You will also liaise with Band 7 line managers to support GP liaison, education and musculoskeletal audit champion roles. Our in‑service training programme covers each joint with theoretical knowledge, practical skills and clinical implementation, and we offer a range of external courses with free places available.
This is an excellent time to join our motivated, forward‑thinking department. We aim to provide excellent clinical care for a diverse patient group within an NHS environment and develop dynamic clinicians who bring innovation to our ever‑expanding service. Please note the post may close early based on the number of applicants.
