Directorate : Resources Section : Governance (Elections and Member Support) Location : Civic Centre Grade : Level 3 Foundation Living Wage Salary : £13.45 per hour Hours : 37 hours per week annualised (contracted to work 1,924 hours per year, instead of a fixed weekly schedule, you can work more or fewer hours on a given week, as long as the total equals your yearly allowance). You will be required to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays throughout the year. This advert is open to both Internal and External applicants. Further information on the Council and our directorates The Role: Provide a professional chauffeuring service to the Lord Mayor and Consort Act as macebearer to ensure the Lord Mayor’s formal presence at civic events Ensure safe, timely attendance at official and civic engagements Support the planning and delivery of civic events and ceremonies Assist the Elections and Member Support Team with diary management, VIP liaison and wider democratic and administrative support Key Responsibilities: ·Chauffeuring the Lord Mayor and Consort to official and civic engagements ·Acting as a macebearer and formally announcing the Lord Mayor at events ·Supporting the planning and delivery of civic ceremonies and processions ·Assisting with diary management, event logistics and handling enquiries ·Providing flexible support across elections, Member support and democratic services About You: ·Professional and courteous in all situations ·Reliable, discreet and trustworthy ·Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail ·Confident communicator, comfortable working with elected members and VIP’s ·Flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays What we offer: ·A competitive salary based on your skills, experience and talent ·Hybrid and flexible working options ·An excellent local authority benefits pension scheme ·Professional development through learning opportunities, regular training sessions and apprenticeship and management schemes Further information on our Rewards and Benefits can be found here For more information on the role, please contact the Recruiting Manager Gina Jones Pre-Employment Checks: Any offer of employment will be subject to the successful completion of required pre-employment checks.
