Project Engineer - Capital Projects Our client is recognised as a trustworthy and respected manufacturer of plastic products within it’s Industry. As part of their ongoing growth, they now have an opportunity for a Project Engineer to oversee key engineering and capital Cap-Ex projects. This is a critical role responsible for the successful planning, execution, and completion of strategic capital projects that enhance production capabilities, improve efficiency, and support long-term growth. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced individual who can work cross-functionally with internal teams and external vendors to deliver results. Key Responsibilities: * Lead the end-to-end execution of Cap-Ex and other significant engineering projects, from initial concept to commissioning and handover. * Develop detailed project scopes, budgets, timelines, and risk assessments. * Coordinate with internal departments (Health and Safety, Production, Quality, Distribution, and Finance) to ensure project alignment and support. * Strong management of external contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. * Monitor project progress, ensuring compliance with health and safety, quality, and regulatory standards. * Provide project updates and documentation to the Engineering Manager and senior leadership. * Support the development of long-term capital plans and contribute to strategic investment decisions and use of innovation. Candidate Profile: * A qualified Mechanical / Electrical Engineer * A minimum of 6 years of experience in engineering roles (2 years minimum in Project specific work) gained within a manufacturing or industrial environment. * Proven track record of managing capital projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor management. * Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, equipment installation, and process improvement. * Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project or AutoCAD. * A hands-on approach and fluency in English. Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 depending on experience
