Orion is partnered with a well-established domestic architectural company located in Leighton Buzzard which is recruiting for an experienced CAD Technician. The company provides architectural services & technical drawings, so applicants will need to have a strong background in CAD design and have knowledge of the industry. The ideal candidate will also have strong communication skills and be comfortable liaising with customers, third-party specialists and governing bodies. Candidates must have a full UK drivers licence and have access to a car as the role involves driving to site to complete surveys. CAD Technician responsibilities: Design panel boards/switchgear using AutoCAD Design circuits from scratch Modify existing designs Customer support/liaison Cradle to grave project management Communication with customers to establish project scope. Technical measured survey of existing site and buildings. Translating the project proposal from concept into a 3D AutoCAD model. Liaising with 3rd party specialists to achieve engineered solutions. The preparation and submission of drawings for Planning Permission and Building Regulations. Lising with local councils to get planning approval CAD Technician Competencies: Must have a full UK drivers license and access to own car CAD skills AutoCAD architecture & 3D modelling Teamwork Customer liaison Must be able to read interpret cad designs and building schematics A general understanding of domestic architecture & house building. Understanding of the local authority planning permission process. Understanding of Building Regulations. A positive attitude to problem-solving. Attention to detail Communication is key An excellent standard of written and verbal English is essential as this role involves speaking with customers, the council and governing bodies.
