About The Role
Do you have a trade qualification or background within a building or property maintenance setting?
Position: Estates Technician
Location: You will primarily work at our services based in Bridgend to Newport. However, you will also be required to travel to other services within the region.
Hours: 8 hours per day, between 8.00am to 5.00pm, with flexibility on start and finish times. On-call duties are required once a week, every four weeks.
Transport: You will require your own vehicle, and mileage will be paid at 45p per mile.
Tools and Equipment: Supplied by the Company.

Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure buildings are maintained to provide a safe, secure, and pleasant environment, complying with policies and statutory requirements.
* Maintain critical systems such as drainage, water, lighting, heating, and fire alarm systems.
* Address critical alerts and problems through assessment and corrective actions.
* Collaborate with the Regional Property Services Manager, Registered Service Manager, and authorities to implement maintenance regimes.
* Support specific projects or deputize as needed under supervision.
* Complete Property Condition Reports for compliance and safety tracking.
About You:
Ideally, hold a relevant trade qualification and demonstrate competence in trades like joinery, decoration, plumbing, electrics, or have proven maintenance experience.
Additional key skills and experience include:
* At least 2 years practical maintenance experience, with desirable budget management skills.
* Experience responding to reactive maintenance requests within strict timeframes.
* Ability to work independently and responsibly, including lone working.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with accurate record-keeping.
* Understanding of Health & Safety and Fire Safety requirements in care settings, including risk assessments.
* General gardening skills, such as mowing and tending plants.
* Sensitivity and responsibility towards vulnerable residents, colleagues, and visitors.
* Full driving license and access to a vehicle.
