An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and highly dynamic Paediatric nurse to join our respiratory specialist nursing team.
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be expected to provide high levels of care to the child/adolescent and family. Experience in nursing children with medical conditions is preferable. Experience at band 6 is required.
Responsibilities
* Manage asthma patients in both nurse-led and consultant clinics, performing spirometry and FENO testing, and developing and monitoring asthma plans.
* Work between Kings Mill Hospital and Newark.
* Involve in audit and research.
* Assist in leading a small team.
* Participate in network meetings.
* Provide education to medical and nursing staff within the unit to improve quality and enhance care delivery.
* Perform patient assessment, planning and implementing specialist care, and provide advice, support, and education in collaboration with the wider MDT, including child protection/safeguarding teams.
* Support colleagues at Nottingham University Hospital to ensure we offer support and guidance for children local to Sherwood Forest Hospitals in managing cystic fibrosis.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Paediatric nurse with experience caring for children with medical conditions.
* Experience at band 6.
* Ability to perform spirometry and FENO testing.
* Ability to develop and monitor asthma plans.
* Experience with allergy and cystic fibrosis care.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
