Role Summary
An opportunity has arisen in the transforming Technical Publications department within MBDA. The purpose of this role is to analyse, develop and deliver the Technical Publications for a complex portfolio of MBDA’s products across the Land and Sea domains.
Salary & Working Conditions
Salary: Between £40,000 and £46,000, depending on experience.
Dynamic (hybrid) working: We seek to accommodate a blended approach to on‑site and remote working – such as 2–3 days in the office a week.
Security Clearance
British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

Responsibilities
* Authoring specialists to support and develop complex engineering descriptive and procedural documentation
* Apply technical authoring expertise using SGML; adapt to other formats of authorship as required
* Use S1000D based authoring tools, and be familiar with BREX (Business Rules Exchange), Guidance Documents and a CSDB (Common Source Data Base) environment
* Work with a variety of people, maintaining a helpful and professional attitude
* Provide technical expertise to ensure design teams understand the publication development, production and upkeep process
* Participate in demonstration or process proving activities at alternative MBDA sites or customer locations, in the UK or overseas
* Liaise with product suppliers to support technical publication technologies, while keeping accurate records of all publication activities
* Be willing to travel within the UK and overseas
Qualifications
* Experience in technical authoring is essential
* Proficiency with SGML and S1000D
* Knowledge of BREX, Guidance Documents and CSDB is desirable
* Ability to adapt to other authoring formats
* Working knowledge of the military environment for operation and maintenance technical publications is preferable but not essential
* Strong communication skills and a calm professional manner
