Overview
An opportunity has arisen to become a healthcare support worker at the Moorside Unit in Trafford. The unit has five wards: a male acute ward, a female acute ward, a male PICU, and two later life wards. The post holder will be responsible for implementing programs of care with clients under the direction and supervision of registered nursing staff, and will participate in ward service development. The role involves internal rotation and working across seven days with various shift patterns.
Responsibilities
* To implement individual programs of care with clients, under the direction and supervision of registered nursing staff.
* To assist in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for clients and staff.
* To assist with maintaining effective communication systems with clients, carers and other members of the multi‑agency team.
* To work within agreed standards, policies and procedures.
* To participate in ward and service development.
* To undertake any other duties associated with the post, as required.
* To participate in internal rotation.
* To participate in PMVA as required.
* To report immediately any complaints, incidents and other untoward occurrences to the senior trained nurse without delay.
* To be efficient in the use of supplies issued to the ward and highlight deficiencies to the nurse in charge.
* To participate in appropriate identified training events.
* To assist in maintaining effective communication within the ward, receiving and reporting any changes affecting patient care or ward operation to the nurse in charge.
