About us | He kupu mō mātou
Our Clandeboye site is Fonterra’s largest manufacturing site, with 11 plants processing, at peak up to 13 million litres of milk per day through some of the biggest dryers in the world. We employee over 1,200 people across the value stream all bringing a diverse range of skills, expertise and thought to our operation.

About the Opportunity | Mō tēnei tūranga
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our high performing Maintenance Team at our Clandeboye site.

With a strong focus on Health & Safety and maintenance best practice, you’ll apply your mechanical expertise to manage changing priorities and deliver effective preventative maintenance, ensuring optimal site performance. You’ll bring a continuous improvement mindset, actively identifying opportunities to enhance reliability, efficiency, and maintenance processes.

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will provide mechanical support across manufacturing lines, maintaining equipment in line with asset care strategies. You’ll draw on your problem-solving skills to confidently diagnose faults, resolve breakdowns, and contribute to ongoing improvements in equipment performance and team capability.

This is a permanent position working a rotating shift pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off with the requirement work 4 days on and 3 days for periods within the season. There is also a rotating on - call element, therefore flexibility is a must.

About You | Mōu
We are looking for a proactive and motivated mechanical fitter who is committed to continuous improvement and achieving excellence in everything you do.

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

* Mechanical Trade Certificate (Level 4 or higher)
* Mechanical aptitude with hands on fitter experience
* Exceptional fault finding and problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside of the box
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work as a team and independently
* Computer literacy skills, ideally with knowledge of a CMMS such as SAP
* Previous experience within an FMCG / food manufacturing or similar environment would be beneficial
