Position Overview
We are seeking a caring and reliable Personal Assistant (PA) to support a gentleman with Down syndrome in accessing his local community and participating in a range of sporting activities. The role involves one‑to‑one support to build confidence, encourage independence, and ensure safe, enjoyable participation in activities such as gym sessions, swimming, team sports, and community events. The PA will offer practical and motivational support, promote social interaction, and follow individual support plans while respecting dignity, choice, and individuality.
Responsibilities
* Provide one‑to‑one support to enable the individual to safely access the community and take part in sporting and social activities.
* Offer practical and motivational support, promote independence and confidence.
* Assist with travel and timekeeping.
* Ensure wellbeing and safety.
* Encourage positive social interaction.
* Follow agreed support plans.
* Communicate effectively with family or professionals as required.
* Always uphold dignity, respect, and personal choice.
Requirements
* Previous experience as a PA or an interest in sports and inclusion is desirable.
* Ability to build confidence and encourage independence.
* Good communication skills.
Compensation and Hours
Hourly Rate: £13
Micro Provider & Self Employed PA's Rate of Pay: £15.60
Hours Per Week: 6
Schedule: Monday 17:30-19:30 & Tuesday 11:30-15:30
