At Finchley House there are 6 of us living here. Judith, Lee, Alyson, Lynne, Michael and Leigh.

Our ages range from 19 to 66

We need our team to be trained in Medication, Moving and positioning, Catheter care, PEG feeding and Dietary requirements. Complying with out SALT plans for our meal times risk reduction plans.

Epilepsy, Intense interaction, communication other then speech. Hydration, bowel management and most importantly remembering we require to be included in our daily decisions and encouraged to be as independent as possible. We need our staff members to help us live our Best lives Possible

* What are we proud of? The bond we all have together as Judith, Alyson, Lee and Lynne have lived together for over 13 years.

* What activities do we to do?
* We like to go to the Cinema, the stack, the queen Vic, the Alex disco, Washington Disco, Meals out, Shopping for items we require, Concerts, Shows, Seeing our family and keeping in touch with them. Tasks in our home and included in theses
* What are our interests? Gardening, Baking, Arts and crafts, Bowling, Cinema, Going out for a park walk, different pubs, Winter gardens, Butterfly world.
* We rely on our staff to support us in the community by the use of our wheelchairs. Lynne is able to walk out and around the community but five of us that live here need support via wheelchairs.
* How do we describe ourselves?

Fun loving, happy, mischievous, full of fun, we enjoy to build relationships with our team and trust is a massive impact in our daily life.

* A description of our home and what type of house is it? Our house is a bungalow all one level.

We have a big garden that goes all the way around our home.

* What are the shared spaces within the home and what do we do in these areas?
* Our communal areas are the dining room, the Lounge, the kitchen and we are also trying to renovate the 7th bedroom as a room we can all enjoy
* Our service is in between two roads which lead from the New Derby another pub we like.
* What are the neighbours like? - Our neighbours are very nice and like to participate in fundraisers that we complete once a year especially in the summer in our garden.

What parking is available?- You can park in the back lane or at the side of our home

* How many colleagues are on shift at any one time? This depends on what is happening on the day between three and seven.
* What shifts do you work on? 8am till 3pm, 3pm till 22pm 8am till 22pm 9am till 2pm, 12 till 7pm, 11am till 6pm, 22pm till 9am ( 2 waking night shifts).
* What do we need from you and what training would we give the staff that join us to be able to support the people at this service to be of their abilities? -
* The organisation help with E learning and mandatory training of moving and positioning which is face to face, EMFA which is also face to face training, medication training, PEG training from the Nurses to be able to help clean the PEG site and also to understand the machines.
* Working with Monkwearmouth Nurses to help support acute diagnosis such as Epilepsy, Autism, Intense interaction.
