Asa Senior Occupational Therapist working in the Older Adults team you will playa key role in autonomously assessing and treating patients to support acutegoal attainment and discharge planning.
Ourteam delivers high quality, holistic, patient-centred care, in line with bestpractice guidelines. We work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team& community services to promote Home First and therapeutic goal attainmentfor our patients.
Ourcaseload includes older adults with a range of health needs, including but notlimited to chronic diseases; high BP, heart disease, COPD, Arthritis, cognitiveimpairment, dementia, Alzheimers, delirium, falls and frailty.

To work within the Occupational TherapyService, Providing effective Occupational therapy Intervention to variousclinical areas
Tomanage autonomously a clinical workload at a specialist level: assessing andtreating patients and maintain associated records

Toprovide a patient - focused service following the Occupational Therapyprocess (screen referrals, assess and plan treatment programmes, implementand evaluate treatment programmes, monitor and discharge) and usingOccupational Therapy core skills.
Tosupervise and support Occupational Therapists
Todelegate work to, supervise and support Occupational Therapy support staff
Tosupervise and educate Occupational Therapy students
Toact as a specialist Occupational Therapy resource for colleagues, carers adpatients
Tobe actively involved in team and service developments including audit andresearch

ClinicalResponsibilities
Thispost holder will be responsible for providing complex occupational therapyintervention in a specific clinical speciality
Thepost holder will work as an autonomous practitioner addressing occupationaltherapy performance skills, social context and activity demands incollaboration with patients, carers and colleagues.
Clinicalintervention may take place in a variety of settings including wards, therapydepartments clinics, peoples homes, work places, community facilities,child care and educational establishments
Thework involves close liaison with the multi-disciplinary team and communitybased health and social care providers
Thepost holder is responsible for financial and physical resources for example,use of equipment store systems such as Leeds Equipment Service, petty cash
