Prospero Teaching are looking for a passionate and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Castle Cary. This is a full-time, ongoing position supporting a Year 2 pupil 1:1 who is currently presenting challenging behaviour.
The school are seeking someone calm, patient and confident in helping children regulate emotions, manage behaviour and access learning in a positive, structured way.
About the Role
Supporting a Year 2 pupil 1:1 with challenging behaviour
Providing consistent emotional and behavioural support
Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO
Helping the pupil engage in learning and daily routines
Creating a safe, trusting, supportive environment
Hours & Location
Monday to Friday
08:45 - 15:15
Based in Castle Cary
Full-time, long-term
Requirements
Experience supporting challenging behaviour, SEMH or SEN
A calm, nurturing and resilient approach
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships
Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service (or willing to apply)
Right to work in the UK
